Roemex Achieves Fit 4 Offshore Renewables (F4OR) Status

We’re proud to announce that Roemex has officially achieved Fit 4 Offshore Renewables (F4OR) ‘granted’ status, marking a key milestone in our ongoing transition toward supporting the offshore renewable energy industry.

The F4OR programme, led by the Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult, is a prestigious and highly competitive initiative that helps UK companies build the systems and capabilities needed to thrive in the offshore renewables sector. Our journey began in 2023 when Roemex was selected to take part in the North East Scotland regional F4OR programme, funded and supported by Energy Transition Zone Ltd.

Since launching, F4OR has supported over 150 UK businesses, many of which have gone on to become market leaders in the offshore wind supply chain. Participating companies have reported, on average, a 28% increase in turnover after completing the programm, highlighting its real-world impact on business growth and readiness.

“Securing Fit 4 Offshore Renewables status is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team,” said David Halliday, Business and Commercial Manager at Roemex. “This was a significant project for us, and this achievement not only underscores our commitment to excellence but also enhances our ability to contribute meaningfully to the offshore renewable energy industry.”

Peter Wilkie, General Manager at Roemex, added: “Our involvement in the programme has been an important part of our transition into offshore wind. We're already applying our decades of experience in the energy sector to support clients in this space—and this process has strengthened the solid procedures we already had in place.”

The F4OR status—valid for up to three years and awarded on a site-specific basis—recognises that Roemex has the key management systems and competencies needed to succeed in offshore renewables. It’s a recognition we’re incredibly proud of, and one that aligns with our broader strategic direction in the energy transition.

Hugh Riddell, Regional Partnership Manager at ORE Catapult, commented:
“We would like to hugely congratulate Roemex on achieving F4OR ‘granted’ status after demonstrating exemplary commitment to providing solutions for the offshore renewable energy sector, as part of our North East Scotland programme."

Roemex now joins a select group of companies across the UK that have demonstrated a high level of operational excellence, safety, and quality as part of the F4OR journey. Notably, Balmoral Group was among the first in Aberdeen to be granted this recognition, further highlighting its growing importance across the region.

As we look ahead, we’re excited about the opportunities this status unlocks and look forward to collaborating with other industry leaders in developing innovative, sustainable energy solutions.
